I would think OSHA and its state sister would have mandated lighting in the stairwells too, at least at the egress points. It's hard to tell from your pick, but it looks like there are boxes located up the stairwell and over the doors, not sure if these are lights, vents, or something else.

Yes, there are lights going up the stairwell, mostly on the left hand side going up, and then one at very bottom and very top.  Not sure I can light those or not.

I ordered a Shapeways car the other week, seen here



It's not quite what is on the rock runner that runs out of Bittinger, so I contacted the designer and sent along a video of the Rock Runner passing thru St Denis, MD, asking if the cars were something he could design.  Well, I think I'm going to have to save some money now.

One I think is a new design that he did, while the other he said he had drawn up but Shapeways rejected it due to the railings being too thin or something.  So he went back and redid some things on the car.

Winchester & Western #2197 makes an appearance in CSX Hagerstown Yard. 



I realized after the fact that this ( along with sister unit GMTX 2182 ) were missing the air filter box ahead of where the DB housing would be.  On this unit, the fix was simple.  Shave off roof detail and cut a piece of styrene to fit the area.  2182 is a different animal as it has dynamic brakes.  I think what I'm going to do there is cut the DB/Air filter section off of a donor shell if I can find one and then do a complete replacement on that unit, as it's already painted and decaled

I still have to put sill stripe on other side, clear coat, and subtle weathering.  The decal sheet I got had 2 of same sill stripe, but each side is reversed from the other.  Someone pointed it out to company (CMR) but only after some sets were sold.  I contacted them and they are sending a reprint of the stripes.  After that's done, then I'll get the glass back in there    Also have grabs to install yet.

Drilled holes for LEDs, fun part now with wiring.


Took LEDs out, and outside in the brief spring preview and shot a coat of primer.  Will get a coat of tan tomorrow.

I acquired a 3rd MMID unit today.  So now it's either trade for 301 if someone is missing 302, renumbered the 2nd 302 to 301 (or 3,4,5, or 6) or renumber to G&W 2060 heritage unit.

My replacement stripes came in the mail yesterday, so I was able to finish up decaling the Winchester & Western units last night.

Looking good, but I have a question for you, why did you not just put the frame stripes on upside down to get them to have the "lean" in the right direction?.Not face down, but flip the bottom edge for the top edge..

Believe me, I tried every way but wrong to figure out the original decals.  I even went back and checked the proof on their website.  That's when I noticed the sheet I had had 2 identical stripes, instead of one in each direction as was on the website.  That's when I noticed the web was different and contacted them.  They said they had a few others report the problem, and fixed the website.  I must have gotten an old proof.

Been doing some thinking on the layout lately and one thing that bothers me is not having Center St modeled.  This is where 795 originates and 797 terminates.  Smiths would also be nice as that's where the interchange with YorkRail is, but I can use the expanded siding at Porters that I redid last year for that purpose.  I visited a double deck layout over the weekend and that got me thinking about a helix and doubling mine to add some run and more space for more features !  I give you my doodles from this evening.  These are just quick what if's and I definitely need to gather my local work crew to determine if this is feasible or not.  AgCom, Utz and Bittinger would get moved to the top level.  Sunoco, would get moved towards the helix area, and I would presumably being at add Center St and Smiths to the lower level.  Everything from Porters east would remain as is.  Up top, come out of helix, hit Utz, around the curve to New and Old siding into the wye at Bittinger.  Mainline continues west (180 around the center divide to head back to helix) and find new sidings for Morton Buildings and Dal-Tile, and new location for AgCom before the helix.  Descend the helix and come out into Security, which everything west would remain as is.  As drawn, I think I'd have to have a crossover at top or bottom of helix to get the mainline onto the correct side of the divide, or flip the top level industries, leaving Bittinger where it is.
