Born and raised in Prague, not Germany, but your window observation is right on. Solche Fensterlaeden are just unAmerican, I don't care how many teutonic immigrants came to the Dutch country
But it's still a wonderful model railroad mind you...seriously.

Sorry Otto, I didn't mean to have it come off that I was upset or anything.  I just never really paid much attention to architecture 

It looks like a station, and in real life there is an old station in that spot (now an insurance company) so I set it there.  I've had that building since I can remember having a layout.  It's at least 30 years old

I got some motivation to do a little work on that area of my layout.  Here is what I got with a couple minutes of cutting and shaping foam board, and staging some trains and the only building I have that looks like a station.
