That end with the trees and the cut hiding the hole in the wall looks good. I think it needs more trees, but others will probably tell me why I'm wrong.

I stayed home from work today.  After sleeping off some dizziness and sinus pressure, and I could see straight again I worked on some more trees and got some planted.  Also blended in the ballast around the new turnouts with the airbrush.

Hawt. Needs some static grass for a more 3D relief effect.

Agreed. And some forest floor.

Trees are just stuck in holes, nothing permanent, so I can still make changes.  I've been thinking about trying to make my own grass applicator but haven't dove into it yet.  Might head to LHS this weekend, I think they have some scenic express floor material

An impromptu trip to the LHS got my son to purchase his first N scale car.  Well, I bought it, but he picked it.  And with his choice, he now has a very important job on the CSX Hanover Sub.

He is now in charge of taking control of the NS coal train that runs from York to Spring Grove.

I also picked up some Woodland Scenics underbrush, didn't find any leaf litter in stock.  We'll see how that goes for now.

Excellent!

Also, what's that second hopper? I don't recognize it.

After driving past the house of a friend of ours, I realized she had not cut down her sedum plants at the mailbox yet.  I contacted her about them and she said I could have them.  I even offered to cut them down for her.  She said that's even better !  Once I got there, she mentioned she had two more plants in the backyard.  Here is the result.

Check back with me in like 10 years after I make all the trees from this harvest

I did manage to get everything in plastic bins until I can work on them.  Looks a little more manageable this way

I picked the car up to check the bottom of it.  It says Atlas USA .  I have 3 of them in the consist.  Must be really old, others have Atlas China on bottoms.

I stopped by Ken's Dutch Line O scale layout today to check on tree height/scale and he put me to work as he had some visitors stop by to see trains run.  Here is what I got to run.

Here is my train coming thru a small cut leading into the east portal of Jacks Mountain.

Meanwhile, Ken was operating a Reading powered train, here seen just west of Middle Creek.  The greenery in background is newer, and will be the location of an orchard.

And here is a sign he has sitting on an in progress section of his layout, warning of a dangerous disease one could catch.

I worked on some trees today.  Here is how much I took out of one of my bins.

20160227_144222 by Adam Henry, on Flickr

It resulted in about 5 dozen trees.  I now have about 120 trees in some stage of completion.

And I only managed to get myself with the Xacto blade once !

A friend of mine from high school is rediscovering his love of photography, and caught the New Oxford, PA train station from a couple different angles.  This is along the Hanover Subdivision.

@Ed Kapuscinski caught this station during one of his railfanning trips, from the other direction.

back in the 70's and 80's I used to make a quarterly treck to Gilbert's in Gettysburg
and Paul's in New Oxford

stopped by Tommy Gilbert's a couple years ago to find it dwindling
and to New Oxford to discover that Paul's is long gone

nonetheless the locations provide wonderful memories

sincerely
