Oops! Then I stand corrected.
The rather dark pics show a similar spring package (spring-plankless) so I made an assumption...
I'd like to know the difference between 'ASF Ride-Control' and 'ASF A3 Ride-Control' as is often stated in various online documents regarding which trucks were used under which cars, as trucks are a
thing with me....?
The same goes for
Barber-Stabilized and
Barber S2a?
It seems the visible springs
and the sideframes used, are the defining characteristic.
In N-Scale the differences are often not visible/applicable. I have learnt, for example, that many of the
Ride-Control trucks that the PRR used had
Ride-Control spring packages , but used the same sideframes with the distinctive 'droop' that the X29 boxcar rode on (2D-F8), but spring-plankless compatibility.
Further study indicates that many different sideframe manufacturers made products that would accomodate these spring packages, but with their own distinctive company look/function.
Someone with more knowledge feel free to school me....
