They would have run into Vermont from Montreal and through to Detroit andChicago on the Grand Trunk route.

I was thinking they got into Detroit.  Forgot the GT went into Chicago.   I suppose NYC got some of these on their rails.  Was wondering if any made it further South in PRR territory.

Hi Bob.
Check this out. Go down a bit and it will tell you the Central Vermont went into New York City into the 50's.

I would be very tempted by the grand trunk scheme.

A mixture of GTW and CNR cars, both smoothside and HW can make for some really cool and highly prototypical consists running into and out of Detroit, Chicago and other hubs..... The Maple Leaf lives !
Model railroading isn't saving my life, but it's providing me moments of joy not normally associated with my current situation..... Train are good!

I was thinking  more of the CN green livery with gold lettering and the red herald used prior to the 1954 green/black/gold paint scheme. I think that one is readily available from both Con-Cor and Rapido Trains in the smooth side edition.

Rick

Does this fit the bill? I pre-ordered one back in the spring, but I'm tempted to order the other road number as well.

I would be very interested in GTW and CN in the black and green scheme, and a more limited number in all green.  I gave up waiting on a GTW RPO and painted and decalled my own.  Similar cars have been out for a couple years in Z scale, so I am surprised that MT has taken this long.

CN and GTW also rebuilt some sleepers and parlors into coaches that maintained a heavyweight appearance- which would be easy to do, if you can live with being off a couple windows, by playing mix and match with the MT interiors.

Of course, CN was also renowned for rebuilding even very old heavyweights into a near streamlined appearance- has any company ever offered these in resin or as sides?

Unfortunately no but none have been offered in larger scales either so we are not alone.
