Soo Line decals - early Colormark covered hoppers

Does anyone make decals for 1974 and earlier Colormark Soo Line grain hoppers?  Walthers used to, but they're long out of print, and it's very hard to find a RTR Soo Line hopper.

This reminds me:  what font is the large SOO LINE?  I have to redraw my art for a 1/29 project I'm working on.

mplsjct:  Very much like that.  In fact, with the 1966 New date, it would work fine.

It looks almost like that one was intended to be applied as a single piece right over the ribs, with the spacing printed in and the widths of the blue panel.  The old Walthers decals required that the panel be painted, then the yellow grain decal applied.  Given the slight inaccuracies of many N scale cars, I'd have to wonder if this one would actually work that way.

A related question:  I've seen the Colormark cars in both blue and green.  Was that different eras, or for different products, or just different series?

I made the decal, and you're right, it was designed to go on as one piece. It was made for the MTL Evans hopper. Send me a PM and I'll mail one to you, as I have a few extras laying around.

The Winter 1999 issue of the SOO historical magazine is a good reference for Colormark hoppers.

The decals I had were Walthers #66-40D. They are a Colormark set, but they may not be the one you are looking for. I'll try to get a pic of them later this weekend.

Jpwisc:  Walthers 66-40D are the same set I used years ago for the one car I have now.  I still have the remains of the set!  Soo Line covered hoppers, green.  Thank you!

However, I looked at the SOO historical society's site, and it appears that green was first used in 1974.  I model that year, so it can be used, but the earlier cars were blue, like Mplsjct's set.  I've PM'd him about getting one of his extras, so you might want to hold on to yours.  Since I only need one car, there's no point being greedy, and you, or someone else, might need that set in the future.

Wow a SOO LINE topic on a eastern RR dominated forum!!!,,,just kidding. Found some decals by oddball decals.  I wonder if those would work. They have the green and blue, they are for a PS2CD ,,like the walthers model. I have to look and see if the exact rail and BLMA LO's can be used also.

And thank you to everyone else who offered help and advice.  It seems that there are no current production SOO covered hopper decals.  Sounds like there may be an opportunity there for someone.
