Worked on a little urban renewal yesterday.  Found this old DPM building in the junk box, and gave it a nice 1960s face lift with some cheap aluminum siding and new picture windows.



Not sure whether it should be a tuxedo rental or a bail bonds place.  ( I already have enough greasy spoon diners... )

Having fond memories of picking up tuxedos from S. Hiken on Eastern Avenue when I was in high school, I've opted for the haberdashery.  I do like the Foxxy's Tuxedo and Menswear name.  I'll work on some signage...

I've got plenty of buildings to do yet.  I need to watch Hair Spray again to get some references.  Definitely going to have the Hardy Har Shop and Mr. Pinky's Hefty Hideaway...

The mural used to cover the entire wall of this building when I worked for the Guide in the mid 80s, and it was used as the Turnblad residence in the movie, with Edna hollering out the window from the second floor in a scene or two.  I wish I could find a clean shot of it as it was.  The Hardy Har Shop was downstairs.

You'll also need a liquor store. On Princeton Avenue in Trenton is the Hyman Liquor Store. They answer the phone, "Hyman Liquors." Ya gotta love it.

One of those just opened up up the street from my office. It's a nice one though. It had big picture windows, but they decided to frost them over. Apparently, people walking around the neighborhood shopping don't want to see their array selection of dongs and bondage gear.
