Hi, classifieds here have a used compressor, as named in subject title. $45. Googled for reviews, but found none.
 Anyone here know anything about this model?

Real, it's a Paasche. My GF's daughter has an airbrush, never used(don't know brand), and a deal on a compressor would be sweet. With the fiasco of RPM paint line, and Weaver is not offering any yellows in spray bombs, it's time for the air brush.
 Now need to try and design a spray booth that will vent outside.
 Perhaps Harbor freight would be best, and I have 25% coupon:)
 Just need to learn to use it.

 Joe,I would think any Paasche aircompressor would be at least 100+ dollars.If it's in good shape, I'd grab it,wouldn't worry what it is..Unless,of course,it's a tiny little thing..I have several bigger,newer compressors,but the one I've been using for decades for trains is a little Bunn.I bought it for five bucks from a neighbor who was doing flea markets in the early 80's.It's only maybe ten inches long..You don't need a really big machine for an airbrush,I suspect you'll never come close to giving yours the beating I've given mine,painted hundreds of RC cars,thousands of trains,model cars,guns,ETC,and it was used when I got it.It runs five hours a week,LOL!!I wouldn't worry too much about what it is,just the condition.

The Paasche  is a nice air compressor. A couple years ago I tried something different. I went to the local welding store and bought a bottle of CO2. Works like a dream! Quiet, plenty of pressure, lasts forever and zero moisture issues.

Before I got flooded out of New Orleans by hurricane Katrina about 9 years ago, I bought a few used 20 pound tanks to fill with CO2. They cost around $50-60 each... don't remember.

When they finally were empty, I'd get the tanks refilled for around $8 each (???). Don't remember exactly.

Darn, that used compressor was sold. Like the CO2 idea, and my GF works for praxair. Is it flammable???

CO2 is non-flammable. While it's not likely, if the tank fittings should leak, CO2 can suffocate you. I wouldn't keep a CO2 tank in the house.

CO2 is not flammable.  It is an extinguishing agent for many extinguishers used for electrical equipment because it is non-conductive and will not leave any residue. 
 
CO2 is heavier than air which is why it works as an extinguisher - it breaks the fire triangle by separating oxygen from the fuel.

20lb tank was about 55 bucks brand new. Haven't had to do a refill yet but the shop said a refill was about 10. Fittings nice n tight, no leaks ever. (knock on wood). Tank sits in the corner of the room next to the workbench.

What kind of fitting needed to adapt to airbrush hose? Use teflon tape, dope, on fittings, or nothing?

Here is a pic of my setup. The fittings and regulator are from Harbor Freight. As you can see I used teflon tape. Haven't had any issues.
