What an excellent-looking layout.   

WRT the latest iteration of the river, it looks a little too shiny to me, but I can't put my finger on why.  At first I thought that if that reflective, you wouldn't be able to see the bottom, but I found a vacation pic where I had a mirror-image at the rear of the lake and could see the bottom at the front, so it isn't that.

For modeling purposes I guess you would want to leave on the Berkshire soot

I'll shoot you an e-mail. I looked them up and said they (Hemingrey 42) are the most common with millions made, they were replaced with a different model number in 1921.

Yeah if those pics will work. I measured mine and got 4.25" tall. 3.75" wide at base. 2.125" wide at inset for wire.

I also have a #40 and a clear 42, but hey this is N scale.

I still haven't measured the real pole yet, but this is from a couple years ago:

I haven't touched my N scale layout since April. Today I went down and cleaned off the eastbound main and ran a train. Yippy! I guess this is just an update of what the whole layout currently looks like.

I also have a dry basement, but it can get humid down there.  If I'm lazy and don't keep the dehumidifier bucket emptied on an almost daily basis, the humidity will rise during the seasons that my furnace is not running.  I've seen that "brass" look, too, on Atlas Code 55 track.  In fact, I have to clean the track much more often in the spring, summer, and fall months.  In the winter, my dehumidifier won't even run, because the oil furnace must do a heck of a job drying out the basement.  I go much longer between track cleanings then.
