I'd like to see a theater car, personally. You can name the PRR ones cool things like "Wagner" and "Lohengrin."

What about those MoPac cars? Didn't they interchange with the PRR?

A baggage car would be great. Does it matter if it has four axle or six axle trucks? Here's a B&O/C&O car that's a little unique.

I'd really love this combine.  It shares many of the same features as the B&O coach, so the design work shouldn't be too difficult.

I understand Bryan's point however I am not opposed to a new baggage car; in as much as I don't believe that producing it means that another HW car (Solarium, Horse Express etc...) would not be a possibility further on down the road.
I suggest one of these as a possibility:

A Pullman built GN 80' (80 foot-ish for you purists out there....)



A Barney and Smith SOO 80'... an under represented builder in N scale I'll wager..............



 and another variation of the SOO 80 ft....

80' heavyweight baggage....
aren't you limiting your options SEVERELY with that requirement?...they're not too many ways to go if that's your criteria. The SOO line and GN cars listed above are good candidates if 80' is a pre-requisite.
MY preference is anything with baggage ends, clestory roof, and 3 axle trucks...I'm just going to use them as donor cars for building 70' ATSF types....
if you were going to go out on a limb and do something as niche-y as a PRR theatre or PRR Horse express, then I'm all over that as well...but you'll get a LOT more bang for your buck if you do a 74' 'standard' size hvwt baggage with choice of roof...
i seriously understand not wanting to duplicate another manufacturer, but if 'said' manufacturer isn't producing 'said' product...I mean, GEEEEEZ....
I just don't understand the forced limitations...do a 'classic' heavyweight baggage car, run it tons of times in different liveries, with Harriman or clestory roof (but have a real prototype for it), and get a big piece of the head end car market...I can't find ENOUGH donor cars for all my heavyweight head end builds....!

This thread reminds me, whatever you do Joe, how about some steam line connections?  I don't think anyone makes them, all passenger cars and express cars need them and Rapido won't share theirs (I've asked).

It's not that we won't share Jason; it's more like "we don't have".... We don't carry 99% of our passenger cars parts as, well "parts". (I won't get into the long and boring story of how it is darn near like pulling hens teeth to get say 5% extra parts made when you order "x" number of cars.... it "flumexes the flux capacitor" at the factories...We ask, it doesn't happen.. we ask again.... etc....)

The steam line connectors are not a part we stock so if and when I have to do a repair to a car for those parts, I have to "steal" the part off a warranty shell.... It's not ideal to say the least and we are working on it but I don't expect to see a change any time soon. The fact of the matter is we are in the RTR car business, not the parts business and thus our production isn't set up for it on items other than the wheel sets and trucks we offer (and have a hard time keeping in stock).

I know you can't, I was just poking fun, otherwise I would have brought it as soon as you started working there.

But it does seem like a part lacking for N scale.  Seems like there are more passenger car modelers than freight car modelers.

Paul Graf has mentions that even Atlas has problems getting the factories to supply extra parts.  Seems like someone else (Bryan?) has mentioned it also.  You'd think it would be easy to do, but...
