Pennsy B60 is off the table since you guys are getting a proto diner so don't ask  :D  Would like something in the 80' range given that Wheels of time has done a great job with the 70 ACF version...no need to walk that same path.  No combines...pure baggage with two or three doors is what management wants, and I agree.

Fine, how about a PRR B74a?

Close to 80' and besides being used as a baggage car, this was also used a horse express car. C'mon Joe, we all know you are a closet PRR fan.

Hi Joe,
If you want to give those new trucks a run I would suggest a B70b. Six doors and has a Clestory roof. Just busting a nut for the diner to arrive. Are you going to release it as a runner pack first up. That would be a good start for my needs.

As we already have a B&O prototype coach, I would expect that a B&O baggage car would be O-W-T.

Does it have to be eighty foot?   Have the boys at emM-Tee considered sixty foot baggage cars?   Or is the eighty foot set in stone?  I would propose NYCS sixty foot cars.  MT even could do a runner pack of them:  one NYC proper, one P&LE and one B&A.  The NYCS sixty foot cars did ride on four wheel trucks, though.

I'm good with the Erie car. Most B&O baggage cars were shorter on 4 wheel express trucks anyhow so they don't fit the bill.

This comes pretty close to Chris' suggestion:

The above car looks good to me.

What is a horse car? How many passenger trains transported horses? No no no!

Hmm... how about a
Great Ape car...?

Two scientists create a teleportation ray, and they try it out on a cricket. They put the cricket on one of the two teleportation pads in the room, and they turn the ray on.
The cricket jumps across the room onto the other pad.

I'd like to put a vote in for a WESTERN car.. well; sort of... Pullman made baggage cars virtually the same as these (The GN had those as well) that were used, with some minor differences on a number of roads; this one is a drawing from the Great Northern and is either identical or very close to many GN and NP cars of the era...

Just my 0.02 worth.......... :D
Model railroading isn't saving my life, but it's providing me moments of joy not normally associated with my current situation..... Train are good!

Here are a few of the better done Pullman rebuilds that had their vestibules "hidden" to match the rest of the side...

All pretty unique like Mike said.  :?

What part of 80' Baggage car don't people get. I clearly win.  :)

Specialized stock cars were used to transport horses (race horses) and other high value livestock as part of passenger consists

I agree, especially if the fish racks are part of the model's interior.

I don't see the logic at all in tooling a baggage car when 1) there is a good model with multiple configurations already on the market, and 2) there are plenty of other prototypes available to tool that would have wide appeal and spread out over multiple roads/schemes.  A solarium observation, for example.  Why purposely get into another FT or bay window situation?

Because...the overwhelming number of requests are for head end cars.  We have an observation car...two actually and doing a Solarium Car has even fewer uses than a more generic 80' baggage car would.  This wouldn't be the only one we do, but it gives us a good foot print for combines and others. WOT has a 70' covered and any thing we do would would rob from him and frankly, he has more options than we would offer.

Unless you offered a combine first.  Or a horse car.  Or a theater car.  Or a hospital car.  Instead of reissuing a car that already is being done elsewhere in two different lengths and a great number of variations.
