So I think we're going to call that loop "Free Return" because it is made up of the old curve modules that these new ones are replacing. It won't cost anything to use them, it's a return loop; "Free Return". I used to have a 5 track staging loop, but donated that to another group that had a better need for it. Eventually, (get ready for this!) I plan to build another 4 more curves, which will replace the "Free return" curves again! The reason is that those curves are small and heavy, which means they take about twice as much effort to setup (and add half as much 'stuff' to the layout), as the new curves will. When that time comes, yes I think 1 through track and 3 staging tracks will be the way to go.

Such an impressive layout. Any plans for Free-moNebraska to visit the East Coast? Would love to be able to see your work in person at one of our bigger train shows sometime.Unfortunately, Free-mo seems to remain a scare form of the hobby in the urbanized NE.
My little brain keeps reading that as "Free Return Trajectory".... guess I've read Apollo 13 too many times... Ed

Yes, the curves really do look amazing, nice work. This is where N scale shines. I also like your choice of equipment, nothing like the fast Super to show off the flowing curves... Would you mind identifying the different radii shown on each photo? Thanks, Otto K.
