FVM's GP60Ms.  Gorgeous model of a relatively rare, 1 road prototype.  Under most manufacturer's production guidelines would never be produced.  Thanks, Matt!

Bachman S4 has pushed the limits of slow speed performance.... Very impressive.
Model railroading isn't saving my life, but it's providing me moments of joy not normally associated with my current situation..... Train are good!

I have an Atlas 4-4-0 that I added a decoder to (which did not require a humongous tender load to conceal) and I run on a switching module at super slow speeds without any issues.  That's hard to beat in my book.

If Atlas 4-4-0 came out this year (I somehow thought it was last year), then my vote is for it.  It is about time that someone came out with a replacement for the Bachmann toy.  Atlas loco is really well made (except for the blind spokes in the drivers), and it it is a god runner (considering its tiny size).

Mark, you could have made this thread into a poll. It would be much easier to see the results.  :|
You could have made "other" one of the options for people to pick.

Bachmann S-4. Then the EM-1. The only reason the S-4 eeks out ahead of the EM-1 is the fact, that the wheel diameter is correct for the EM-1, but wheel face suffered due to flange size.

S4.

Amazing that it's one of the smoothest diesel locomotives available.

More amazing in that it comes from someone other than Atlas or Kato.

I'd say that it's a tie between the EM-1 and the S-4.
Both were made so excellently and hit the ball out of the park.
Having seen both in operation first handed, unmodified right out of the box, I can say that it's a solid tie.

Having been out of the loop for a while, I'm glad you guys pointed this one out. It'll make a great mine critter.

Definitely the Alco S-4. It is silky smooth and creeps like a switcher should. It will be interesting to see the NW-2 (when it finally makes it).
