Sorry Benjamin, I sold off my Con-Cor F3's long ago. Hopefully someone else will be able to chime in with those measurements.

Cheers,

i managed to get hold of a 1997 U50 today, i assume it is that ... as the silver box has 'rail baron' on it.

interesting.  the trucks are a combination of too short and too high due to the wheels being 8" larger dia than they ought to be, which gives them a compressed look.  truck wb should be 17.7mm and is 17.1.  not much to be worried over.  dimensionally otherwise, it seems to be about what it ought to be.  the loco runs well, or it did on the test track, anyway.

in TT I think this may work for an E unit. i think regauging to 12mm is possible.  to get it to the right number of wheels at the right spacing, it will need an inner axle added to one truck and an outer one to the other.  luckily it has plenty of spare wheels.

I had a set of those Con-Cor Fs, sold with a Northern Pacific passenger set.  No idea what happened to them, as the were undoubtedly the worst looking F units I ever saw, and didn't run much better.  Even my ancient Bachmann, with the metal gears, looked better, and ran beautifully.  For regular service I stuck with the MiniTrix.

I don't think that CC F was TT scale, or any other known scale.
