CSX Spririt of America Dash 8 Replacement Cab

When Atlas delivered the CSX Spirit of America Dash 8-40CW  a few months ago, the factory Atlas used put the wrong cab on it.  In response to the mistake, Atlas (aka Paul G.) posted this over on another forum:

"On the recent N scale Dash 8-40CW release, the incorrect cab was used on the CSX Spirit of America (road number 7812) locomotive, Atlas item numbers 51942 (analog) and 51977 (DCC). Correct replacement cabs are available at no cost by sending a copy of your box label via mail to Atlas Model Railroad Company, 378 Florence Avenue, Hillside, NJ 07205 or via email csdept@atlasrr.com using the subject CSX cab."

This is why I love Atlas and will continue to buy their stuff..

Cool, "Spirit of America" just look wrong with that Conrail cab.
Funny thing is they made a special run for the N-scale collector with the correct cab, only difference is the presidential seal instead of 7812.

a classy outfit to freely admit making a mistake.  And a true class act to resolve the issue in the customers favour.  Thank you Atlas, I don't need a replacement, but it makes me smile that Atlas does things this way...
