Buildings like that would not have an attic and the awning would need to be as tall as a truck as most were gas powered at the time. In this case, tall windows would be prototypical.

And I think it has been alluded to here, there are plenty of transition era kits available and virtually nothing for modern gas stations.

I've got sort of a thing for old gas stations.  I don't have the Micro Engineering one.  I'll have to be on the lookout for that one.
I do have a nice one by JL Innovative Design and another by Depots by John as well as the Showcase kit and the City Classics kit.  Another good one is available from Micro-Scale Models.

That's it!!!!  The one I mistakenly referred to as Gloorcraft was really the Micro Engineering one.  It really takes you back and the detail was incredible even by today's standards. Thanks for showing the picture.  It brought back memories.

BTW, I checked with the guy earlier today I gave it to and he still has it centrally located on his layout.  It still lives because it is so valued.

Maybe a cheese from Micro Engineering may be lurking this thread which may give some incentive to reissuing it.

60's gas station? Yeah, I'll take this one:

Jason

That looks  like something Karin from Stonebridge should be able to fairly easily pop out of her laser cutter.  Speaking of that, I haven't seen Karin posting here for a while (or for that matter any of the N scale kits she was considering making).

Summit makes one.  I don't have one but they look pretty good.    I'll post a pic later, the tablet doesn't like links very well.
Can't model worth a darn, but can research like an SOB.

Blair line make a nice kit of the very distinctive Clark stations of the 1960s.

I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that.

This is another excellent 1950's station, if you can find it.

Something
common and mundane like the assemble on site metal and glass catalogue stuff that most every brand used at some point.  Having a easy lighting option for the canopy and shed is a must for anytime the structure is in service.  Ability to easily convert from attendant pumped gas and vehicle service bays to self serve with a snack shop eras expands the timeline of usefulness.

Personally I would be modeling the abandoned with pumps removed weed infested eyesore, but not yet dismantled for a strip mall with a Starbucks version...

I like (have) this one.

My Classic Metal vehicles from the early 50s look great there.

It looks like there's plenty of cutesy crap out there already. Daniel is right. It's time for a modern glass and cinder block eye sore.

I really like the Miller Engineering one. It's a 50's style Gulf station. They even have an interior / exterior lighting kit to go with it!!

This one reminds me of the Model Power Exxon kit that's been around for a long time. Another fairly modern station is the one Bachmann did years ago, still plentiful on ebay.

I've been wondering about Karin as well. She showed us some pretty cool pics of a modern gas station a while back. I hope she's busy filling orders. Speaking of Stonebridge, anyone heard from DKS lately?
