The first scratchbuilt building for the layout is now good enough for viewing.(not in the same class as Cris and David

I had planned to have more done before I posted another update, but that darn thing called life keeps getting in the way.Anyway here is the latest pic taken about a half hour ago.If your wondering about the brown backdrop I need to get to Wally world and and get a rattle can of cheap white primer before it will turn blue.Just like my Z layout everytime this one is seen at a show it will be different.

John, have not weighed it yet,nur I'm shooting for under 30 pounds. The back drop and buildings will come off for travel.
Glad you like it ,I still credit Chris and David for the inspiration (and Model Railroader for the basic trackplan).

Here is the latest update pic.Next project will be a coat of paint on the white building (once it warms up currently 53 degrees in Sliver City). This layout like the Z will actuallky be built between shows. In other words it will look different in some way at each show.Another common trait with the Z is it will never be finished but it will be "done" many times. One trait it will not share with the Z is this layout will never grow it will stay at 32" x 48" as long as I own it.
Oh and one more thing .I started building the staging track cassette last night when it is used the layout will be an actual 7' long.

Looks very David and Chris like from here, Katt. I really like how the combo of the two helps reduce the impact of the sharp curves needed on a layout that size. You got a nice concrete canyon effect too. And your grass and earth are not perfectly flat, which adds significantly to the realism.

The David and Chris effect is very intentional.
There will be one more large building going to the right of the white building (which I need to get finished),but since I don't have the turnout and track for it will have to wait.I am planning to do at least one fairly large non rail served building also, but that isn't even in the planning stage yet.

Today Oct.6 was show day as the Onandaga sub made her first personal apperance at the Holland Michigan train show.In spite of being nowheres near complete she got quite a few favorable compliments. Here are the three best pictures of today.
Next show is November 9th so I have just over a month to work on her and tomorrow I have a turnout and more track coming.

Still doing buildings and scenery (I'm actually ahead of scedule). This one will be done by Friday. This is Onangaga Foods a fictional grocery warehouse in Onandaga. As you can see I'm building to fit the space already there (pre existing siding for a long gone former building).
Trackside, the two boxcars (both derailed) are simply there to check for room to offload two cars at a time.
By this Friday afternoon I need a coat of paint (probaly white primer) the roofs on,and the parking lot paved. Our club show is on Saturday.
