SP flatfaces have a Monkey Deck , this looks bigger , so in that light a Great Ape Deck it might be coined . I can see  a beach umbrella , card table , and happy crew members .

Don't forget the BBQ grill.

Looks like a mullet, business up front and a party in the back. Now serving drinks on the lido deck. The dance floor will open in one half hour.

Maybe this was a proposed solution to upgrading the toilet. Enough room for a porta-potty there, well out of nose distance.

Does anyone know WHY that's been labeled a B unit? Was it missing a crapper or something?

Missing a lot of stuff... a lot of the NREX units couldn't lead in Canada

It just so happens that someone on that site is dumping a bunch of IM SD40/45T-2s at the moment.
How many of these can the  :ashat:'s build in the next couple months?
Can't model worth a darn, but can research like an SOB.

B units are without cab controls , with engines , and with traction motors AFAIK . My guess is it is less expensive to bash a B unit than to do one with onboard controls . How many lashups do we see lately with B units , not a lot .

It's most likely not the basic controls that are missing. While specific B-units aren't really built anymore, there could be a lot more engines rated as "trail-only" that don't really look any different from the outside. And it may not be for specific mechanical reasons.

For example, like Robbman alluded above, many US "A-unit" locomotives can't lead in Canada for either legal or crew agreement reasons due to not having certain features that are required here. (e.g. lack of a hotplate or microwave for heating lunch)
