The problem is that after 1966, the Ford F-100 went through a redesign, so the 67 looks nothing similar.

Don't get me wrong.  I'd like either one, however, one could not substitute for the other.

I'll be doing one of those as well.

the 67 is a diffrent body style.  :(

How about a '67 longbed?

One of the beauties of contemporary modeling is that you can have relics--as long as you don't have an unrealistic amount out there on your highways. I've seen way too many of those Mini Metals '50s Internationals pulling trailers on modern layouts, it's ridiculous. There's always room for old clunkers or restored classics, just remember: moderation.

I enjoy a thread that has to do with a specific aspect of modeling in N scale that isn't always about the train and obviously vehicles seem to capture a lot of guys' interest. I wouldn't consider it off topic talking autos instead of trains. But I will go ahead and join the guilty and chime in with my moldy oldies real cars. Yeah yeah women don't usually talk about cars and stuff but this one loves trains, cars, and aircraft., guess its probably why I married a train guy  :P

'69 Chevy Nova, sold for a one way ticket to Alaska
Chevy Vega, nightmare
'78ish Honda Civic, custom sport
Chevy Malibu
'85 Dodge Shelby Charger
'87 Olds Cutless Cierra
then came kids and it was mini vans, even to this day with an empty nest.

I'll second that!

I have some of the cast models from KenRay Models, but the details seem to be lacking... it doesn't seem to have the right shape about it...

I think Shapeways could stand to have a good N-Scale rendition of these in various forms (top, topless, windshield-down, .30 mount, .50 mount, etc. and a nice 1/2 ton trailer as an addition)

In a perfect world my first car will be a '42 Willies with a .30 mount in the back, and perhaps an accompanying 1/2 ton trailer.
In a less-than-perfect world, I'm hoping my first car will at least be older than 1955, with my eye more towards a model A.

For the record, it's spelled Willys and pronouned Willis.

If you're planning to be the owner and full-time driver of any antique vehicle, hopefully you are mechanically inclined or you have sufficient funds to pay someone who is. When they say "they just don't make 'em like they used to..." they are not kidding.

To most folks in the classic car industry its pronounced "Willis" but ask any flat fender guy and its "Willies". Yes its wrong but...when in Rome. ;)

Right, I usually am on top of that, but spell check got the better of me today.
I'm not going after something that runs flawlessly, just runs. I prefer a long-life look and feel to things.

Willys Overland made the design, but very few were actually produced by them, owing to their small factory and low output capabilities, thus the design was distributed by the military to the major manufactures for the actual production.
