I can just see John getting his T1 finished and some dude bringing one out. Now that would be a total disaster.

Josh I reckon that was classy the perfect roundy roundy for anything BLI/PSM

On the bright side, I finished my K4 based on a Kato C55 chassis last night.  It came out really well, and I remotored it with a Faulhaber 1016 so the locomotive is super smooth.  The stock motor and gear ratio has the engine going at about 200 mph, so this is much more realistic.

I used a Trix shell and tender shell for the kitbash, along with the proper number board from Gold Medal Models.

Phillip - why do you need a K4?  Kinda out of the territory you model.

Everyone needs K4s. Pennsy modelers, B&O modelers, UP modelers, mechanics, pilots, kindergarten teachers... There can never be too many N scale K4s.  :D

I'll try to get pics up of the K4 this week.  It is one of my smoothest running engines with the Kato chassis and a good Faulhaber motor.

My M1,
Based on the ConCor Kato S2 conversion in the N Trak Steam Compendiun arrived to-day. There is some work that is required but noting that is serious. What work that has been done is quite good considering that the modeller last touched it 15 or more years ago. I do hope to get some modelling done for myself this weekend so I will drag it out and has a go.

Not sure if this is the best thread to ask but if I was looking to offload a brass Q2 what sort of value are they going for?

Usually about 99 cents because they are so old. I'll take it off your hands

Seriously, though. Pretty high, and I think a Q2 will get you a small fortune. There was an S1 that went for over $1500 in recent memory.

If your Q is in collectible condition, you could probably get about 2K on eBay. If there are any external modifications or blemishes, probably less. I seem to recall that there were a couple of sound-equipped Q's that recently went for around $1,800. Of course, since they were modified and had wires running between loco and tender, their collector value was hurt pretty badly. Still, $1,800 isn't a bad price.
