Wasn't it 28 GP60Ms and 4 each SD70MACs and AC4400CWs? Would be a cool foob anyway.
PS when you remove the shell BE SURE to give them a quick lube on the motor ends as well as worm gear ends.
Mike,Because I'm not familiar with FVM locomotives (this is my first), can you, or someone, show me (with a picture) exactly where I should lube the motor ends and worm gear ends? My GP60M is not nearly as quiet as I expected, and it sounds like it could use some lubrication, since the "growling" comes and goes. But, I have never lubed a brand-new locomotive, because, generally, new locos are more likely over-lubed. So, I don't want to overdo it.Otherwise, I love this locomotive. It was, by far, the easiest DCC decoder installation that I have ever done. Thanks,Dave Foxx
Thanks, Mike. That helps a lot. I wanted to make sure what I added was in the right place, so I didn't overdo it. Did you notice any improvement in running characteristics or the noise level of the mechanism?DFF
They do sound cool. I made a quick video with my iPhone and they sound like the real thing on the video
My ABBA set arrives tomorrow... but a question in the pre-planning of bench time: can they safely be put back in the nests with the details applied? I'm mostly concerned about the sunshades.Since their first outing is going to be an NTrak event, they'll need to be packed for the trip, so there's some trepidation about packing for safe transport.
Sort of a mechanical sound system?
