Sadly, Mike Phillips' wife, Peggy, passed away last night while waiting for a lung transplant.  I'm sure all friends of nscaleweekend join me in extending our deepest sympathies to Mike and his family.

Last year I was unable to attend owing to having had surgery a week or so before the Weekend. Well, as "luck" would have it, I've just found out that I'll be having surgery again this year a week before the Weekend. I'm having trouble trying to wrap my head around this coincidence. At any rate, the sucky news means I'll be absent this year, again, and for the same reason. Sheesh, I can't seem to get there!
