I wanted to post some photos of my recent work on my fueling facility and a maintenance area in my yard. Looks like one or two of my light posts may need to be straightened - the photos usually point out things that I miss with my naked eye (plus my trifocals)  :)

I received my long awaited shipment from BLW: The N Scale Atlas 4-4-0

Got to love any new N Scale steam, minus the wheels inserts on this one. I think I have an idea to fix that though. She runs great, and the headlight is not as bright as the sun, so it looks like a oil lamp. Thanks Atlas for another great locomotive, I hope to see more in the future.

For my narrow gauge HO layout I needed an inspection pit. Some of the test pieces cut out of taskboard on my laser.

I beleive on the former Atlas forum, a D3 was stated, and when I did my own research, a D3 is pretty dead one. The base though could be used from D1 through around a D11 or D12; there are plenty of bashing opportunities.

Does the loco itself pick up power, or just the tender?
Shame the motor is in the tender though. You'd with all the small, cheap, coreless motors out there that atlas could have gotten a motor into the boiler.

Would i be correct in saying DCC is out of the question?

Both the tender and the loco pick up power. DCC would be hard, but not impossible. There is a good thread on Trainboard about DCC in this loco.

Mark, that bridge looks great.

I've made more progress on my Cisco bridge and installed more cross-supports on the arches.  I also built up some of the internal walkway and built some jigs for the deck construction.  This project is devouring parts at a remarkable rate, so once again I have run out and will have to wait to finish some of it.  The decking is temporary, more for alignment at this point.

Here are both sections propped  up to give a sense of the full span.  The height of the bridge above the river in this scene is about twice the actual bridge height.

Great Scott , terrific bridge . A real bungee temptation if there are escape platforms .

I bought the Disney 4-4-0 before the Atlas model came out (plus it has a higher cab)

As for DCC the motor wires are just wedged around the weights in the tender. It should be very easy to run wires into the cab where there is a bunch of room for a decoder.

Another landmark structure well under way Mark; looking forward to seeing it place !

Slow week; my "pretend company" (as I like to call it when things are slow) got busy this week so I've been actually working as opposed to making excuses and trains... that said...

I was at my LHS (Credit Valley Railway in Streetsville, Ontario) and was picking up "mucho mombo" detail parts and saw this BLMA Wabash PS 4000...... Now; I don't own a single piece of BLMA rolling stock; just haven't seen anything that tickled my fancy... but as I have about 6 Exactrail PS hoppers and have a weird, inexplicable soft spot for the ol' Wabash (maybe because it was a "Hoser road"... kinda...) I tossed it in the basket....

I decided to weather it similar to a reference photo I found on Fallen Flags

http://www.rr-fallenflags.org/wab/wab32064aga.jpg

Not exact by any means but a nice addition to the "ridden hard and put away wet" hopper collection... as seen here with an Exactrail Milwaukee Road hopper....

I also got a "new gig" that is real life railway related.......more about that soon.... suffice it to say I kinda, sort of, but not really am working for a kinda, sort of, soon to be railway................

No love for Panther Hobbies. I be leave you got that BLMA car from me.

Nice work on the weathering.
