The N&W Gons mentioned above have a 46' 0" inside length - compared to 41'6" on many of the others, so the list above is rather mixed. The G1 has an inside height of 3'.

These 12-panels are all N&W heritage it seems, other than the CSX car that has non-uniform rib spacing.  Are they all IL 45', and are there other roads that had them?

Bethlehem Steel built these 14-panel SAL cars in the 1950s.  Did they build them for anyone else?

It doesn't matter to me which style is decided upon.  My only stipulation is that at least two roads had them (preferably from different eastern regions), and one of the roads must have been based in the southeast region of the United States.

I will be happy in whatever Byron chooses , I'll take ten . I was just nervous that the MEC end question was going to nip the project in the bud , and as such I was scampering to find other spouts to nourish before all hope was lost .

The N&W G1 and the VGN G5 (N&W G25) are shared designs if I recall correctly. 46' inside length and 3' inner height. Sunshine made a kit for them in HO:

There is a USRA 70 ton gondola that shares the 46' inner length but it is a somewhat different design.

N&W had another low side gon built in the 50s, class G6 (also 46' inside length):

N&W G6 (a low-sided G5), 46' IL, many converted to coke container service, carbide container service, fleshing service, and wheel truing service.  All built by Roanoke Shops... you might check the Dereco roads (EL, D&H) as other owners (they did buy some Roanoke built G72 gons in the 70s)
