Anyone know what happened to LookModel, the small run Japanese brass manufacturer, mostly focused on Amtrak, UP and BNSF stuff?

thanks,

Lou

Lou, I am really disappointed he's gone.  I would have LOVED to have gotten one of his Hollywood Beach SAL cars.

But all his websites are gone.

He was an excellent modeler, but a poor marketer.  When he sold these exquisite cars on ebay, he would have slightly fuzzy low powered photos.

Ron, I agree - I heard nothing but good things about his models....

Did I hear somewhere that he went to work for Kato or something???

The website seemed to go stagnant in the aftermath of the tsunami, but I hope that's unrelated.   :|

I think unrelated.

His website was stagnant for well over a year before going down.

His last project was the UP S2 slug.  His locomotives were not as good as his passenger cars.

If anyone ever finds out what happened, or has an e-mail address, or whatever, please tell.

I wish I had bought the Amtrak California cars before he disappeared.

Otto,
Do you have an item number on that EBay listing? I would like to see it.

I agree! I wish I had jumped on some of the Pacific Surfliner cars. I can't believe they have been released in Z and HO, but not N!

I think the dorms were 550-555, so 557 seems like an anomaly and I don't think anyone should bid (against me).

I have one of his CNW "400" observation cars.  It's quite a nice model of a unique car that's not likely to be produced in plastic.
