Since things have been steaming up lately. I was messing with my 4-6-0. Instead of building up a whole new tender I decided to go with a Model Power 4-4-0 tender with the tanks height reduced.

It can. :)

The snow can be pretty, and there are some things about winter that can be kinda fun. Like sledding, snowball fights, snow football, skiing, pond hockey...

.... and then there is cleaning your car off, driving, being snowed in for three days......  ....and as for snowball fights Chris, I'll introduce you to my son "Deadeye" Sammy.... you'll love picking snow out of your ear....LOL

Model railroading isn't saving my life, but it's providing me moments of joy not normally associated with my current situation..... Train are good!

Sez you. :RUEffinKiddingMe:  I agree with Pud's sentiment. Snow is pretty for the first two hours of the first snowfall of the season. Beyond that it means shoveling, digging the car out, reckless idiots sliding into other cars, ice dams, soaked work clothes, half-hour waiting for the wife on every trip out the door to put on all her layers...

Last winter was for all intents snow-free in southern Illinois. I'll take that again, please.

Yeah, but with the winter we had last year it's been two years since I've had to deal with that! (And boy did my area get snowed in 2 years ago!)

Plus I live close enough to walk to work in the morning. A big advantage when I can already be at work in the time it would take to scrape frost and ice off the car.

That looks awesome Chris.  Did you lower the boiler on that one?  I forget if it was this one or the 2-6-0.

Beautiful, Chris.  That tender looks so much better on there.
What prototype are you changing this engine into again?  I must have missed that somewhere.

Oh!... *edit*
Are the DOMES on that thing separate pieces?

I'm modeling the NKP, No Known Prototype...  I did use the Ma&Pa drawings to lower the boiler. It is like Bachmann used 63" driver plans and then put 56" drivers on it. So I lowered the boiler about 16 scale inches. Any more and the motor would be sticking up through where the bell is.

I had plans to model the Ma&Pa and ordered decals. About 6 weeks later a nice set of HO  decals showed up and I gave up.

And yep the domes are each held one with a small screw from inside.
