It’s natural that the higher river bank is the outside curve of the river and the lower bank the inside curve, so it looks good to me. It may not be an exact copy of the actual location, but one flood could change that.

The bridge looks fine to me.

I'm continually impressed at how nicely the water turned out here - the current effects are very lifelike.

Thanks all, I am very pleased with the water too.  Much more so than the Fraser River at the Cisco Bridge that I did several years earlier.  I've been filling in gaps in this view to fill it out as it is my favorite on the layout.

I'll pack it in a vehicle and drive it to you @craigolio1 before I burn it!  :D

Please don’t burn it!  Haha.   I know you are joking but if this layout is ever getting torn down then consider allowing me (or anyone else who’s willing) to turn it into a free-mo-N module. I’ll take it to every show I go to so that people can enjoy it for ever. It deserves to be seen by as many people as possible.

Thanks @mark dance!  I have been silent for a long time.  Big life changes and the layout is gone now so the article will be a nice reminder and encourage me with my next efforts.

Most of the layout will live on in some form.  The bridge and tunnel scenes were recovered and will used in two other layouts.  Even some of the backdrop and extra rock castings found homes.  I recovered all of the trees, along with the track, Tortoises and DCC boards from the hidden yard for use in my next layout, so in the end I discarded only about 25% of the layout.  The leftover wood benchwork that had served me in several layouts (including an HO layout I made with the kids) dating back to 2002 was ceremoniously burnt in a bonfire at our cabin.

In our new house, we have an unfinished basement and I look to have a 13' X 20' open space to work with.  I'm going to try to incorporate operational considerations for multiple people into the new design, but much remains to be determined.  I'll start a design discussion at some stage to tap into the expertise and experience at TRW.

@Scottl,

I just received the May 2021 issue of MR magazine the other day.  What a great cover photo and article!  Congratulations.  When this layout came to an end and this thread slowed down, there was a definite void on TRW.  I really enjoyed following along with your Cisco bridges layout as construction occurred and look forward to your next adventure in model railroading.  Bring it on!

Thanks @davefoxx !  I dismantled the layout in January 2021 as we prepared our house to sell.  The bridge and tunnel scenes found homes with other modelers so much of the layout will resurface again, I hope.  Now I have a much larger space to work with in an unfinished basement.  I've been working on layout ideas and hope to be building something next year after the basement is finished.

I just read it tonight.  A very nice article and a wonderful looking layout.  Congratulations!

Scott where did all the photos from this thread go? I was trying to look back but they are all gone.

I also noticed the pictures are gone. What a shame!  At least I have the article to look at still.

Thanks!  I removed the fuzzy and lousy cell phone pictures from the galleries a while back and in the end it was pretty much all of them.  The vast majority of the pictures were lost when Photobucket changed to a pay model.

An impressive MR cover, Scott, and a very nice article! What a way to showcase N scale to the world...!
Looking forward to seeing your future efforts in the new, respectably sized space.

Thanks Otto, I managed to get some paper copies of the issue today and I am very pleased with the article.

I'm working on a new layout concept, hope to grace these pages again!

As a way to close this thread out, I thought I would share the passing of the torch.  Two major parts of the layout survived and are in the hands of modelers that will use them for their own version of the canyons.
