me up early and I will create some decals and make them available on the cheap. 

Think I would be looking to recreate the wagon on this page:

Printed on white decal stock, they might be hard to apply on black or dark blue paint.  Then again I cannot recall a single vista cruiser that had 'wood' in any colour but white...

For one, I need 73-77 Ford F series pickup or the 67-72 version.

This for bi-level auto racks ..

Pickups are very difficult to do, but I am learning how with an HO scale '49 Studebaker right now.  Anything with thin cross sections like the sides of a pickup box will cause trouble.

You could be right - I do see some flaws in the pictures I have seen too.  I'll have to keep searching for good candidates to start with.

Regarding the Ford pickup, there is a fabulous HO scale model made of a '68 model, but the cheapest one on that auction site is $46.00.   :o  I would need some sort of commitment from those interested in one before I shell out that kind of money on something I will never use myself.  I see also that California Freight made a solid N scale version of a '75 model.  I've never seen a painted one in person so it's hard to judge how they look.  Those may be a less expensive alternative if you want to fill up a string of autoracks.

Here in Michigan, ours was metallic olive, also the harvest gold ones came with the wood sticker.
Might have been an option, have to see if I can find the original bill of sale.  (My dad keeps EVERYTHING!)

Of course, by the time I got it, my older sisters had "customized" the front end, and it was rusting out every where.  It was a mixe of olive, pealing wood sticker, Bondo tan and gray primer!
