Has anyone built a N-Scale Unitah articulated?

I was just wondering if there are links to a Unitah steam engine build? I was looking at the Micro Ace 0-6-6-0 mallet as a base to work off of. Some saddle tanks and other smaller mods would make a pretty neat little loco.
I really want to build a small, twisty, mountain layout and these would be ideal engines, I think :)

Thanks for any info or ideas!

The real Unitah mallets were narrow gauge.

I've seen one or two done using Marklin Z scale 0-6-0 chassis.

Plus I don't think you will find a Micro Ace 0-6-6-0. And if you do it will be expen$ive.

Pet peeve: dubbed steam engine sounds.

Just leave it silent or add some classical music.

And here is a link for a partially assembled C&F Modellbau Nn3 Z-Scale Mallet conversion that was recently listed for sale.

Personally, I prefer even dubbed steam sounds over whatever generic/poor/overly dramatic "music" some video producers include.  It's easy for me to shut out the bad steam sounds (some of the dubbed stuff is pretty good actually), but...being a musician, the bad music REALLY grates!!

I would much rather listen to real steam sounds, dubbed or not, when looking at videos of steam engines, than be hog-tied and forced to endure bad music...which includes totally irrelevant classical music (what relation is Bach to a Big Boy struggling upgrade again?).

The music that might be endurable would be music from the time, location and era of the steam engine I'm watching...what the train crew or passengers might be listening to.  At least that has some sort of relevance.

Here's a link to Republic Locomotive Works, talking about a kit in the works: https://www.republiclocomotiveworks.com/uintah50.php

I'm working on one right now using an Z scale 0-8-8-0 as the starting point, and leaving off a pair of drivers on each engine to make a 2-6-6-2. Since I'm just getting started on the project, I can't really say how successful this will be.

Sorry for a slight change of subject here but I have a question concerning narrow guage locos.

If a railroad did not built in house how did the locomotives get to their lines?  On a standard flatcar, in pieces to be assembled in their shops?  Curious minds just want to know.

The Maine two foot gauge equipment that was built or serviced offsite was moved by flatcars. Several of the Sandy River's 2-6-0's traveled from Farmington, ME to the Maine Central's shops in Waterville by flatcar for major rebuilds, including the conversion of several to 2-6-2's.

Not sure about other NG lines, but the SP Slim Princess had a transfer dock so NG engines could roll right up onto a SG flat car:

Ted Brandon, who worked as an advisor to Arnold Rapido back in the '60s, built a Uintah Mallet and had it running on the Nn3 layout at San Jose NMRA National in 2000. Ted has since moved up in scale to On30. But he waited until his 80s to do so. I think his On30 layout is in Great Model Railroads 2013. The Rio Verde.
