I wasn't going to say anything, but that was my thought too.....   The times I've seen these out west it's usually been the big green pipes.

But hey, these will do...

You guy's beat me to the post...

Anyway, the new Pipe Loads have been announced, and as noted, they're direct only.  This product is different than anything we've produced previously; the banding material is something I sourced here in the US, and it has taken more coordination than expected.  In order to hold our margins on this limited product, it just made sense to sell direct only.  Of course, the rest of our line is still available through dealers, including the upcoming PTTX Pipe Flat Cars.  Enjoy!

Those look awesome.  I remember the green ones being shipped west out of Bethlehem Steel's Steelton, PA plant in the late 80's and early 90's on Conrail train ESPI (I think) over the Pittsburgh Line.  IIRC, they were two groups of ~40' pipes on Conrail ex MDT 89' flatcars.  So Craig, how feasable is it to cut down the loads?  Are they banded together well enough to withstand sawing in a miter box?  My preordered F89J's will be hauling trailers, not pipe.  I wanted to put these on some Athearn GSC flats and some Intermountain 60' flats.  Thank you.

Probably wouldn't survive sawing without some well placed drops of CA

Any chance of the bigger pipes coming in green at some point?

Hmm... I'm gonna use
a machete...

Two scientists create a teleportation ray, and they try it out on a cricket. They put the cricket on one of the two teleportation pads in the room, and they turn the ray on.
The cricket jumps across the room onto the other pad.

These are 3 across (not 2 or 4):

Any chance we can mix & match red & green to get the 6-pack price?

Honestly, the large pipe load molded in the green of the smaller pipe load would be perfect.  This is the best picture I've found on the net, and I can't locate my own pictures...
