Got some parts from Dave Vollmer yesterday to start off my H10sa Kitbash project.
Finished sanding the top of my new (its actually 60-80 years old) Clark & Gibby Inc. desk that is made with Tiger Maple. Will begin to clean up some spots with steel wool on monday and then i'll stain the top, clear coat the whole thing and then its a matter of getting it into my basement...

Here is the latest pic of the re-worked FEF-2 casting.  I am now using a dyed urethane, which makes it harder to mill-out (Richie you can imagine).  But the end results will be worth it.  Flaws are much easier to notice on a black verse white casting.  The casting is temporarily shown on a ATSF Northern / Kato  frame.  Next I will redo the FEF-1 casting, the master mold was damaged.

Here's the first "flat back"............sheet steel on a flat................

Completed another OLD project I've had for a long time.
A Kato GEVO with wide handrails for CSX.

And this one was challenging.

The fuel tanks look like they're off the Con-Cor/Herpa tractor, so I would suspect that he scratchbuilt or kitbashed the cab and used frame parts from the CC/Herpa truck.  The blue one next to it looks like the CC/Herpa with the tank removed.

We could REALLY use a more modern rendition of both a Kenworth or Peterbilt conventional and cabover.  Athearn makes them in HO, so they must have the plans and rights.

Gonna do some train stuff this weekend!  In the meantime...

Your United States Air Force turns 65 years old next Tuesday as a separate service, so last night Hurlburt Field held an Air Force Ball, attended by 1,200 members of Hurlburt's 3 Wings and all the tenant units.  My little 55-man squadron managed to fill 4 tables alone.  We dedicated the dinner to the 6 Airmen lost from Hurlburt in the last year.  Additionally, our guest speaker was the 5th Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force, Chief Gaylor...  At 82 years old he was still an amazing speaker.

Sorry for the poor lighting!

Got the strange urge to shoot my first video yesterday.  Then, I decided to try to learn how to upload it to YouTube.  I only used a cell phone and, obviously, no tripod.  But, ignoring the significant deficiencies in the video, I do like the angle, especially how it shows off the superelevation.  So, let's just call this a test video, and I promise to put more effort into future videos.  Be kind!
