Joining my BC Rail brothers here (Tim & Andy) with a couple photos of my latest builds for my BC Rail Chetwynd Sub. Three Kaslo Shops 50’Combnation door box cars and a Sidney Model Works Gondola. The box car decals are custom. I paid and arm and a leg to have them made up a few years back and what do you know? Microscale comes out with a set a year later.

Anyway it’s nice to be aboard The Railwire. Nice work everyone!

PS. Please excuse the photography, I am experimenting with a new camera.

Got my eyeballs on one of those new ESM X58 cars in Lehigh Valley this weekend...  They are absolutely stunning.

Sadly, I needed another half tank of gas to get home from the Rail B Q, otherwise I'd have one.

I have to get used to this modern age of getting what you pay for... when you can afford to pay for it!

Don't feel bad.  I try to push the envelope a bit with each new model, and then after I get over the sticker shock when I get the quotes from the contractor, I move forward on the project.  :o

As much as we all griped about the demise of the Atlas forum, I for one am pretty happy to have landed here on TRW.   If nothing else the banner pictures are entertaining!   Really enjoy seeing some work I haven't seen before, and very happy to see some familiar names and trains from Altasworld.  Good all around.

Do you guys do a mid-week proto photo thread?  I'm not sure if it's against the rules to post a proto photo on weekend update, but ....

Guess what I got to do today!?!?  A good friend of mine has a very nice little business arranging occasional private railcar trips and excursions.  This weekend he ran a group of people out from Chicago to Kansas City and back with Cedar Rapids tacked onto the back of the Southwest Chief.  I got to ride into CUS from Naperville for the last 35 minutes of the trip...  awesome.  Gorgeous car.

And just the right place for a small glass of scotch...

Good night...  and have a pleasant tomorrow.

Hi

Atlas friends ...   eja has been here for a few years and it's a nice place..

If I were to compare, there were more photos on the Atlas board.   Now that many of us are here, perhaps that photo to talk ratio will change.

Enjoy .... I do !

Holy crap batman. That photo is awesome Jim

I bought another Athearn Genesis F45, an Athearn RTR SW15, and a stewart F3B dummy. The F45 and SW15 are BN, the F3B is NYC (an thus will be shell swapped or redone as a BN unit)

I may have something in the works that would be of intrest to the Conrail, Pennsylvania, and Penn Central modelers with C425s. I started working on correcting the fuel tanks on my 2 C425s. Turns out the PRR and SP&S C425s had the same style of fuel tank. Atlas never made a correct tank, so I have to do some modeling work in this area. I'm just waiting on some parts to get here. I'll be able to get the correct sideframes and airtanks when my funds recover a bit from the new locos.
Vincent

If N scale had good SD40-2s, C30-7s, U30Cs, SD45s, SD40s, and SW10s; I'd be in N scale.

Have a great week...

What are you using to weather your wheelsets? Chalk or airbrush?
The color looks great!

Thanks

Like Lee, my modeling this weekend consisted of oogling the offerings from the Conrail Historical Society's mobile shop at the Rail B Q in Newport on Saturday.  Unlike Lee, I persuaded myself to take home a goodie - one of Bryan's fantabulous 62 mill gons in CR.  There may be more weathering in my future.

And I shot about 375 images of trains.  Low ball of the day by my count.  Need to process and sort for Thursday.

wow, busy weekend.. it must have been raining everywhere ;)

I got two new container sizes set up for the whatchamajigger-inator.

I also played with some ceiling tiles on the new HCD layout.
