Are you kidding me?  I love you, Atlas.  The newest announcement from Atlas has three N scale Seaboard Coast Line GP40s in the black and yellow scheme.  Nice.  These will look great patched for the SBD.  Thank you, Atlas!  I'm expecting their release of three B36-7s and three GP38-2s in SBD colors at any time.

By the way, I came across this photo again, which, thanks to Lee, shows that the proportions of my second attempt at these bridge railings are much closer to the prototype:





I don't have a picture, but I do have half of the railings installed on the other side of the bridge now.  Only three more sections to go.  Maybe this weekend.

Thanks, Philip!  As soon as I finish those last three railing sections, I'll move on to paint and weathering.  I hope I can capture that grainy, streaky weathering effect of old concrete.

Thank God that's finished!  These railings were neither fun nor easy for these hands.  But, it's finished, and I'm pleased.  This bridge now really captures the character of a piece of architecture that screams Carolina.  That, of course, helps to set the scene on my layout.  Paint is next.

If you're referring to the tracks ahead of the road once you cross the bridge, then, no.  The bridge is for highway access to two industries on the A&R.  Imagine crossing the bridge and either turning left into the industry that is roughed into place in the pictures or turning right into a fertilizer plant, which is not yet built.

Since I last posted, I did a little sanding and then got the bridge into primer.  Next step will be some more detail sanding where necessary and then a coat of concrete-colored paint.
