I'm not sure what the actual speed was, because I don't have a speedometer.

Thanks,
DFF

Thanks, Rich!  That's a nice reference page.  Based on that chart, the freight train that I'm currently running is traveling just a little more than forty smph.

Speaking of that train, it's a doozy (for a HCD layout): three locomotives and thirty freight cars!

 :) :) :)

DFF

EDIT: By the way, I'm up to forty cars with the addition of eight 89' TOFC cars and two gons!

More ridiculousness.  Here's that train consisting of three locomotives and forty freight cars:

Thanks, Allen, but I have a feeling that my wife, who hasn't said a word about this expansion, would probably just shoot me, if I were to plan another expansion.  Besides, that would be more track to ballast.

Come on, you gotta keep adding cars until the train is chasing its tail. We all need to know what the mainline capacity is!

Hum in the race to become HCD Demi-God of TRW, DFF may be about to pass Dr. Vollmer.

Thank you, kind sir, but I doubt that.  My scenery work never gets completed, so my layouts always look unfinished.  Dr. V.'s Juniata Division, on the other hand, always presents well and looks complete.  Not to mention his weathered fleet is the cherry on top.

Dave,  The expansion looks great, but now I'm going to ask the tough question  :scared: Did you solder feeder wires to all those new sections of flex track? Does the new extension pass the quarter test? Just wanted to ask before you get too far along.  :D

P.S. Yes I want to see the train chasing it's tail as well
