Progress in 3 areas this week:

1. In order to assure complete radio coverage, I installed another Digitrax UR92 receiver.  All 8 mainline cabs now have duplexing radio throttles.  I figured the coverage “insurance” of the extra UR92 was warranted especially when running independent pusher crews!

2. I completed installation of the last Train Order station panel at Rosebery.  There are a total of 6 TO stations under Dispatcher control through PanelPro/JMRI where crews can receive orders.

3. I added several hundred Architrees in the Fife/Lafferty area so the last 20' of second deck scenery is now 95% complete.  (Just a short snow "transition area" to the East of Coryell to finish.)  Photos below.

I have been working on this PRR NDa cabin car for a while as part of the PRR PRO group's wood cabin car project.  The car is mostly scratchbuilt from styrene.  Roof and cupola are kitbashed from MT wood cabooses and a few donor parts came from a Bowser N5 cabin.

I commemorated my two year start-of-construction anniversary with the inaugural run through of a full length train from lower deck staging across the bridge and into Taylor.

The last couple of months have been focused on the lower deck staging yard.  Odd hours here and there over the summer have finally added up and it is now operational.  Just some cosmetics like adding a front fascia are left.

I surface mounted all the bus and feeder wires which made life a lot easier (No soldering underneath benchwork).

The yard does not have a huge capacity, but this is a remote branchline.  Trains of 15 to 18 cars with 3 locomotives can be accommodated.   Trains of 20+ cars can be held at a pinch.

While not much to look at the staging yard takes me to the "about 40%" basic construction completion stage.. and is a huge motivation to keep going.

Holiday
layout is beginning to take shape, just in time.  The 'bridge' section was not installed as paint is currently drying.  30 minute rainstorm means 120% humidity for rest of the day.  Centre seam will eventually be covered by the TV in the centre of the layout, so it will not be visible.  Could not let those old HO module backdrops go to complete waste although the centre background section was not used...

Ow. My brains.

I didn't really get any modeling done this weekend. ADAC Rallye Deutschland 2011 was in town.  :D

(let me know if anyone can't see this.)

Bad week here. Real bad week
There's a shyness found in reason
Apprehensive influence swallow away
You seem to feel abysmal take it
Then you're careful grace for sure
Kinda like the way you're breathing
Kinda like the way you keep looking away
