Got the frame built for my next module, a "companion" to my bridge that will feature Kankakee's ex-ICRR passenger station:

I've got a bit more work to do on the leg system, then I can start working on the top.

Just need a few etched details to finish the model.

The Bachmann concrete mixer looks down right funny next to it.

I didn't like the way this one came together. The cab is at the right height but seems to sit way too high.

In other news, I was just listening to the song Tahitian Moon and decided to look up the lyrics but kept getting 404ed. Then I realized it must have been my work's internet software blocking the band name.

There's a shyness found in reason
Apprehensive influence swallow away
You seem to feel abysmal take it
Then you're careful grace for sure
Kinda like the way you're breathing
Kinda like the way you keep looking away

Welcomed a few more traveling cars from around a$$hat land, including a couple collected at the Hershey convention...

Glad to see that Conrail 55 ran smoothly.  This WLRYWL "office car" excursion is the first time the model has operated.

We had a little issue with the trip pins, but once we ground them off with a belt sander, it ran fine!

DKS has compiled a video, which I expect we'll be seeing sometime in the near future...

I took one of my Atlas SD35's and did some lighting FX. I added a rooftop beacon, separated the number boards from the headlights and put the number boards on their own lighting function apart from the headlights. I can now turn on the number boards all by themselves without the headlights being on, and have an operating rooftop beacon and normal operating headlights.

This is the second engine I've done. The first took over a week to complete. This one, only about 5 hours. They should start getting faster from here on out.

A photo of the Varsity which ran between Madison and Chicago usually with hand me down Hiawatha coaches. Sometimes Union Pacific and even Southern Pacific coaches would show up on a quick turn to Madison!

that sort of photo should come with a NSFW warning! mag-freaking-ificent

I should edit up and say that after 6 months waiting for a spare day the exchange is coming together, spent the day in the shed giving myself a blackface from the spray paint but the legs look presentable, hopefully by the weekend I'll have the first rails down in over a year.

Outstanding. What kind of bulb did you use for the beacon?

Day 1, I'm guessing that all this gadgetry was facilitated by using a high hood shell... Any chance a similar install can be done in a standard cab?  Also assuming micro surface mount LED's...  Got any shell-off views?  Or are you still working on the patent? 8)

And won't it be awesome when TCS or someone does a light board replacement that does all of this?

Yes, well we'll make your lower staging yard derailment proof before that happens.

Well I guess my car ran O.K.  You do realize that the car is older than Ed.
