LBF/Huberts: 50' NSC Waffleside - correct for SRY Blue, SRY BCR, some FBOX's
LBF/Huberts 50' Waffleside - correct? for some FBOXes
Exactrail 50' Waffleside correct for some FBOXes, SRY RED
A bit of elaboration on the waffle-sides -- I'm sure I could have found a better use for my time, but here it is anyway... and skip it if you don't care.
LBF/Huberts 50' NSC Waffleside -
10' doors with tapered door posts and 7 ribs on each side of the door. X panel roof. 7 end corrugations. The model:
The only flaw in the model that's obvious to me is the thinness of the end corrugations, and a somewhat "thick" roof. I wish it were still available though...
A proto FBOX:

a proto SRY boxcar red:

LBF/Huberts 50' Gunderson Waffleside -
12' doors and 6 ribs on each side of the door, including 1 thick one. X panel roof. 7 end corrugations. The model (poorly weathered):
Same minor complaint about the thin end corrugations and thick roof.
A proto FBOX:

ExactRail 50' Trinity Waffleside -
12' doors and 6 ribs on each side of the door. Straight panel roof. 6+1 end corrugations*. The model:
*6+1 = 6 evenly spaced + 1 extra one between the lowest two.
A proto FBOX:
http://www.railcarphotos.com/PhotoDetails.php?PhotoID=51939a proto SRY red (with 10' door):
http://www.railcarphotos.com/PhotoDetails.php?PhotoID=52460(The ER model has a 12' door, but is otherwise correct.)
a proto DWC/CN (with 10' door and 5 ribs on each side of door):
http://www.railcarphotos.com/PhotoDetails.php?PhotoID=33895a proto CNA car (with 10' door and 5 ribs on each side of door):
http://www.railcarphotos.com/PhotoDetails.php?PhotoID=14694So to summarize: the ER FBOX is 'perfect', the LBF FBOX's are too, except for thin end ribs (and they're not available). The ER SRY red is correct except for the door width, but not very noticeable in this paint scheme (I'll pick up 1 or 2). The ER DWC & CNA are correct except for the door width and rib count, but fine for most buyers. The ER SRY blue & brown cars are really NSC cars, but fine for many buyers.
Ok, I'll be quiet now.
