that breaks ride height barriers.  Whatever it is I will probably buy if it rides properly low...

Or at least something that converts easily to a proto height -- like maybe by removing a shim, or some similar idea.   I've always liked the MT tooling & graphics, but I've had a hard time with the ride height.

2. The 1958 cu. ft. 2-bay hopper that you currently are doing in Z (both the closed side and open sided versions) - dozens of paint schemes - era from early 1940's until late 1960's, or even later.

I am a modern guy and was going to post this. As I understand it, though, the UP and BNSF versions are different enough to make it a one owner type car.  Too bad, as I would accept some compromises to fill out my modern fleet.

How about the carbon black car?  This car has been discussed before as a good candidate for a new N scale model.  This is a car that ran on many different railroads all across the country.  There were quite a few owners of these cars and even though nearly all carbon black cars wore the same black paint, there were many lettering schemes - some with rather elaborate stenciling.

There are kits available for the 3000 cubic ft carbon black cars in HO scale from Funaro and Camerlengo:

My own personal choice would be a PS-2Cd 4427 Hi-hip Civered Hopepr. But speaking as someone who has to sell the stuff, people have been asking for a couple of things;

1. More Heavyweight cars,especially baggage cars
2. Greenville Aggregate hopper car.
3. Modern Trinity Cement Covered Hopper
4. Cabeese, NE would be good but also maybe another wood one.

Northeastern caboose with easily removable cab and correct ride height (So I can do NS cabooses).  I'll go for more heavyweights, too (75' and 80'), although I'll kitbash 'em.
