When it moves.  The truck comes to take it away on Thursday.

It will be a few months before we get the basement finished out there so it may not be until fall before it's set up again.   :|

You may just want to keep everything in the truck until September and just rent some furniture until these fires are over.  :(

It has a sprinkler system, but it's essentially pointless as we can only water the lawn Wednesday and Saturday for 15 minutes at a time.  Really, the houses should all be xeriscaped.

Household goods arrived Tuesday to storage in the Springs.  We should arrive next Monday.

The Black Forest fire evac zone came within about 5-6 miles of our house, but we will be living in Briargate where there is much less of a tree canopy and more divided roads for fire breaks.  There is a hydrant right on our property easement.

The watering restrictions stink, but it's not that bad.  You get 3 hours each watering day, not between 10am and 6pm.

Survived.  Wish I could say the same for the rest of my stuff.  Lots and lots of damage...but the Juniata Division looks OK.  Unfortunately, it won't be set up for a few months until I have my basement finished.

Seriously? What happened? I mean, I'm thrilled the Juniata is OK, but that's just not right.

Dave, there are others in Springs with plenty of finished area to set that up.   :)

You just missed the local swap meet, but there's another one in Sept.  It's nothing big, but if you wanted to get the layout out for a day or two I know they'd love to have it.

GTE is in Denver in November.  That's a good show every time but it is mostly the same stuff each year.

Hi Dave, glad to hear the railroad survived the move, but sorry to hear other items were damaged.

Much of my furniture was damaged.  There is a claims process.  Don't feel like listing all of the damages here right now.  Taking a break from unpacking boxes.

Wow. That's got to be frustrating.  I hope it all gets straightened out quickly.

My condolences Dave and good luck with the claims process.  At least your work on the Juniata is in one piece.

You never get used to the damage, but it's not unexpected either.  For that reason, we have very few high end items or furniture.  We buy stuff with the mentality that it will not survive the next move.  Sure, the government claims are nice, but why can't these stupid company's get it right in the first place....  :x  ....ever seen a king size mattress folded like a taco...   That would be the wonderful packers in California that managed that trick.   :RUEffinKiddingMe:

The joys of moving in the military .. damage always seems to come when they pack your stuff in trucks with someone elses stuff ..
