You nailed it.  That's exactly what I'm after.  I'm using the older style bridge, though, so it doesn't raise eyebrows when I'm switching cars with an H10sb or L1s.

Boy, Dave, it would seem that the "blue" fleet is growing exponentially by the look of your pictures!  Also, the Fast Track turnouts really seem to blend in well with Atlas Code 55 with a little paint and ballast.  I'm really enjoying your progress, especially since I now have to live vicariously through good folks like you.  I'm seriously jonesing on building/having a layout.

By the way, I meant to tell you that the "trench" that you have for the wiring is exactly how I wired and powered my frogs with Caboose Industries' throws on my door layout.  That's an advantage of working with foam.  Slap a little spackle, or, in my case, Woodland Scenics' Foam Putty, over the wires, and no one is the wiser.

Yep, I'm up to 7 CR engines now...  The cable trench thing really makes life easier for wiring.  I've got the "lava" scars to prove how little I enjoy soldering under the table.

You may notice I trimmed some of those goofy "parapets" off the car shop end walls.  It still screams "Walthers" but is a little less fancy.  Enola facilities were no-nonsense.

That last photo has me thinking, you definitely should go for that extra SD40, since they always seemed to run in packs.

But otherwise, this is looking killer, as I've been saying all along.

Dave, is the switchback lead to the engine shop prototype or a concession to your yard design?  I think its a great use of space taht, in many other yards, might go to waste.

What is with the S-curves on the left side of the yard? That would be a nightmare for our models.

BTW- Dave the expansion looks great. You should know that your layout has helped quite a few people at our shop decide on N scale. It shows what can be done in a small space, yet not look small.

Well, when you do very good work, and then you move it cross country and it survives . . . . Hopefully the Air Force moving guys do right by the layout on your next PCS.

I still see S-Curves but they are a lot more gradual than the first picture makes them appear. It seems odd that they would lay the track like that, it seems like it wastes quite a bit of space.

Yeah, that photo has a lot of telephoto on it. What actually impresses me there is how decent the rest of it looks. Imagine if that were CSX...

NS yard is just south.

Queensgate yard.  I got a speeding ticket on Western Hills viaduct once because I was watching the hump yard and not the speedometer.  :o
