WS is a bit proud of their vehicles and "car secnes", but they are nice. I guess N-scale vehicles are always gonna be kinda pricey, and not that much variety available. :P :(

Meh... That ain't no ice cream truck...
THIS is an ice cream truck!

We used to call him "The Jingle Man"...
Next they have to do "Mr. Frank's Whip"  The truck with the little ride in the back, or the little ferris wheel on the flatbed.

Mr. Softee brings back alot of summertime memories. We also had a bakery truck going around the neighborhoods selling breads, pastries and cookies. One of the small local bakeries was trying to expand it's weekday business.

We moved to Anchorage, a city with Ice Cream Truck "service", when my son was about 3 years old. Since summer is so short here these things were around constantly, sometimes until 11:00 pm or so because of the long days. When he asked us what they were, we just said "It is a music truck", which he really liked. It took about 3 more years before he finally told us that he knew what was inside the music trucks, but we still use that name for them to this day. So I will be adding a "Music Truck" to my layout....maybe Woodland Scenics could come out with a line of grouchy dad figures and disappointed kids to go with it.  :)

Best wishes, Dave
If you lend someone $20, and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

I'm with Lee and Richie, my memories are of Good Humor and Mr. Bungalow ice cream trucks. Good Humor had more variety.

I would love a weinermobile in N scale.  The early version of the weinermobile and Little Oscar (no longer PC- now they use college kids) would visit my boyhood Chicago suburb frequently.

GHQ makes a very nice kit for a Good Humor style truck.
Best regards,

Roger

We still have a neighborhood ice cream delivery, but it's a three wheeler with a freezer on the back -- not a truck.  No name for the service, just a local family with teenagers to run it for a little extra money.  The music still sounds like a calliope.  I remember visiting my uncle in Omaha in the late 40's and loving the ice cream truck with flavored bars we had never even heard of in western Kansas.  I could have stayed all summer.  I don't remember the brand of ice cream.  We also drove 40 miles to Council Bluffs for the first Dairy Queen opening, with cars lined up for nearly a mile [or so it seemed to me at 12 years of age].
