This 0-10-0T is one of 34 that were used on the West Sumatran rack system based around Padang Panjang. There were pre and post war types - this pic is of one of the post war examples, built in Japan as late as 1967.

Wes, did those "ear flaps" with the stars on them that are found beside the headlight on many Indonesian steam locomotives have any purpose, or were they just decoration? I've always wondered. ???
...In all honesty I hated that damn paint on a steamer.
Gregg, how did those mats protect against a pole that's come loose? Wouldn't the pole jump UP, not down?
