Here's Brooklyn Eastern District Terminal Porter 0-6-0T No. 16 at rest and at work almost a half century ago.

Next week? Haven't scanned anything yet. Maybe B&M...

Instead of more Cumberland photos I'm heading to the midwest today.  In 1976 my wife and I visited my uncle who lives just south of Strawn, IL.  He had a small farm in the flat Illinois countryside.  Wonder of wonders this is what I found at the edge of his farm.

Had no idea what RR's these were unitil a day later this showed up:

Later found out this was an ex Wabash line.  Never did figure out what the crossing line was.  Later in the day we went in Strawn, Il and I found this:

Wow a CF in blue! Kinda rare. And the ex-Wab cab is cool too.

Here are some roster type shots I’ve taken over the last few years down In Chama, NM on the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad.  They are making a real effort to restore and rebuild their rolling stock to it's fromer D&RGW glory.

K-36 #488 getting ready for the daily passenger run.

K-36 #484 steaming up.

Pipe gondola with display load.

6700 Series idler flat used on either end of the pipe gons to accommodate the pipe overhang.

700 Series drop bottom gon.

5500 Series stockcar.

3000 series boxcar.

6200 Series flat with interesting load.

40’ reefer.

UTLX narrow framed tank car.

D&RGW Short caboose.

Carbon Fiber?

Actually it's a N&W cabin car class (ie caboose). Steel underframe wood cabooses built by N&W in the teens and early 1920s.

These are from last week, probably the last nice days of this year around here.

This is a remote control unit since it's moving back-n-forth with a empty cab. The horn automatically blows at each direction change. At a scrap yard:

In June, I was passing through Coshocton, Ohio and saw the crossing gates activate. . .so I pulled over and caught OC 1293 running light:

They fired her up for Downtown Days or some other sort of Coshocton town event, at the request of the city goverment. There were no rides, no photo runs. They just parked it downtown by the depot for a couple hours, then headed back to Morgan Run. I got bored just watching them sit there, so I got a little artistic with a few shots:
