Just wanted to introduce myself.  My name is John and am a converted N scaler (from HO, caught the bug!!) for appx two years or so, I lurk around the usual sites and ocassionaly post, but mostly for info.  I have a "test" module for trying various techniques right now, but am working on a room sized 13' X 10' walk in layout depicting WSOR in the mide 90's to present era.  Track plans are completed and hope to break ground in March, will try to post some photos.  I find this site very informative and the work you folks do inspiring!

John

Hi  subway is my nickname and I'd like to just keep it at that, I model Southwestern US, AZ mining industry in particular.  I've been into N Scale for the last 15 years now. Before that I was a HO guy and I kept my collection and add to it now and again if I see something that I want, but don't have a HO layout anymore. My HO layout was a Subway model of NYC where i'm originally from.  Trains are in my blood.  I served in the US Military for twenty years. I'm here to share, learn, and have fun. That's what this Hobby is all about ..Fun :)  I'll be seeing most of you throughout the threads.  Til then Happy Modeling to all

Hi all,

I've been a member for a while, but I am finally posting.  I'm not trying to be anti-social or anything, just not a big poster, primarily as I am currently an armchair hobbiest..  I really enjoy this board - there is a lot of great information on it - thank you to all who contribute.  I'm out on Long Island, NY.  We've just recently had a new baby, and she it taking up the bulk of our time.  I'm looking forward to more great posts!

Hi,

I'm an occasional poster to a couple of the other usual boards who has been a long-time lurker on the Railwire b/c I appreciate the fact that high concept thinking, top-notch modeling, and low-brow humor coexist so well here.  So I figured it was time I sign up.  I'm trying to get back out of armchair mode after the birth of my daughter followed by a move, the combination of which put most everything else in life on hold for a while.

I've been in N scale for a few years and have just recently built a little Atlas code-55 test track to begin the process of weeding out the pizza cutters and determining what stuff that is currently in a moving box can stay and what will go on the Bay.

Hi, I'm based in the UK and just about to embark on building a new model railway in N scale. I had a fairly large HO model railway as a kid but have decided to try N scale this time around....

Well, having cast a few aspersions already, I guess I better introduce myself.  I'm a transplanted Californian whose been living in Maryland, near DC, for nearly 20 years now.  (My wife, also from CA, still likes to claim she doesn't know where MD is: "one of those tiny states Back East".)  I grew up across the street from the NWP Tiburon branch, so I very much enjoyed EngineShop's fantasy NWP thread.

Like many of you, I've been in & out of N scale since Postage Stamp Trains. I'm still amazed how far N scale has come since then.  I'm now planning a new basement pike: Tehachapi (I can hear the groans now), but with a very low track/scenery ratio, and I'm also upgrading lots of locos and rolling stock.  I'll post photos when I have a better grip on my photography.

This is a "special" forum: highly educated and raucously humorous - pretty much the Car Talk of N scale.    ;D

SF Bay Area - in fact just down the road from where Chulvis plies his wares!  Darn it's hard to get out of Feather River without picking up something you can't live without.  Getting back into model RRing after a 40 year hiatus when I had to give up my HO layout to waste my time in Nam.  After that, college, work, building a business, marriage, house, kid, pets and just life in general.  My favorite hobby (actually a passion) is riding dressage on my 10 year horse at least 4-5 X a week!  When I need some alone time I just drool over the 50+ locos that I have accumulated in less than a year.  Really like the scenery/weathering part of this hobby.  We are really lucky to have so many fine N scale products to choose from and forums such as this to have as a source for idea exchange.  Thanks to all for being here and supporting this Forum.

Greetings,

I have recently decided to rejoin the world of N-scale after almost 10 years.  I am interested in trying my hand at locomotive kitbashing and I'm a fan of the BN,MP,Rock Island, and Amtrak.  Looking forward to learning from this forum.
