There was a good "Paint Shop" article on this topic back in one of those MR issues
in the late 70's that I used to devour when I was young. It was written by George
Drury, after he accidentally lettered a passenger car "Erie Lackanna" with dry
transfers. He found some good proto photos, such as "Nor folk West & ern", & "B &".
What he also mentioned, was the fact that although he corrected his mistake on
the passenger car, he thought maybe he shouldn't have, since the proto people do it
too. He suggested that if it would happen again, to leave it that way & see if anyone
catches it (providing it's a car on your layout) but not do it more than once, or folks
will think you're using Jack Daniel's instead of Microsol!
