That's Conrails Reverse banked track.

Holy creap did I make progress tonight!

I did a bunch more trees, and threw down the leaf groundcover for a bunch of the forested areas. I also touched up the ballast as well.

The glue and everything is still drying, and I'm still trying to figure out the lighting in the new spot, but here are the three decent photos from this evening.

Notice how the tree line along the left edge is getting filled in now. I've got two main fronts to attack with the new batches of trees: the ones along the central ridge and the ones on the small hill in the back left of these photos.

Oh, and I did check, yes, the track DOES dip right there. Not sure what I'm gonna do about that at this point. Probably nothing.

Looks like a pretty severe dip.  Try nudging the track up from the roadbed, and fill in with ballast, just like the big boys!

The trees are looking wintery-licious.  I'm going to go put on my sweater and put a fire in the fireplace...

Nice Ed.  Kinda like a post-modern anti-groundfoam nihilistic experiment.

Ed,

Your track is on foam right?

Take a long razor knife like with those snap off blades and make a slice about 1/2" under the track, then stuff a couple shims in the foam crack till the track is level. It's worked for me a few times.

Ok, so last night my butt spent 4 hours in a theater watching the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie, so no new trees, but I did pop a few new photos after I got home.

BTW, Keira Knightley could be my pirate queen any day...

Anyway, here are the new layout pics, I know they're what you're REALLY looking for (forget Keira...  ::)):

Trees looking good there, sparky.  That third shot is excellent, although it looks like the arborist needs to come by with a bucket of Viagra...

Ed, if you're doing this every night, why not mix some bigger, more robust trees in there?
