I wonder if I can weather them in the hotel room in time for the ECHS...
In this casethe missing cab vent is way, way, way more noticeable than the missing sight glass on the LL 38-2s.Care to comment, Ed? ;D

However, EVERY SINGLE GP38-2 produced had that sight glass. Not every GP38-2 came from the factory with the cab vent. So If you want to make a generic GP38-2 model, the sight glass MUST be present. The cab vent is just a road-specific detail.
Ok for some reason Atlas has decided not to put the bell on the high hood like they have for all the other EMD units, even if it was on the wrong side for SOU units. With the GP38-2 I was in high hopes that Atlas would have put the bell on the long hood to match SOU fleet of 254 GP38-2's. But that is how it goes.I am having a hard time finding the SOU/NW/NS hood mounted bell now. Are they no longer being made? So far I have struck a zero at the hobby shops I've contacted including ordering one.Thanks Mike
