Well, it's Thursday again and time for our weekly proto photo session:

Here's a real oddity, a horsecar. It is parked near a hotel on the Isla de Mujeres, off the Caribbean coast of the Yucatan. The hotel built the line from the steamer pier to the hotel, through town. It was abandoned due to both horses and mules finding the grass on the island poisonous.  :o

Reading 0-4-0 camelback 1187 spent a number of years as Strasburg RR No. 4 in steam:

I've heard rumors that #4 may be returning to steam.

I still have a TON of photos from the HSC trip, but I'm up in NYC doing some software training and don't have a chance. Maybe tonight after I get back to the hotel... but probably not...

Earlier this summer I snapped this pic of Erie's terminal station in Downtown Youngstown, OH:

To go along with it I scanned this from 1962 (technically EL  :'( ):

That is two RS-3's, a GP7, and a AS-16 all MUed together. Erie was one of a few RR's that could MU Alcos, EMD's and Baldwins together.

I`ve shot dozens of container photos but this is still my favorite. Red Rock made a model of it.

You`ll never find a Philly cheese steak on a menu in Philadelphia. It`s called a cheesesteak and we all know where it`s from...

Umm, that sure is quite the list of roads there, KCS, CSX, ATSF (or is it BNSF), CR & CN and the NACS brand to boot. Why would that happen?
