It's Thursday again, so here are two more:

Shade Gap Electric Rwy. 314 boards passengers for a trip up the ex-East Broad Top Shade Gap branch at Rockhill Furnace, PA:

At the same location as above, EBT 3 foot gauge Mikado No. 14 wyes its train:

Here's some more central PA goodness, from this past weekend:

"Down Town" Cresson:

Rose Yard in Altoona:

Unit Ethanol Train (ironically, the same type of train responsible for us losing a lot of volume that day) at "the slide" in Tunnel Hill PA (just east of Gallitzen):

There will be many more over the next couple of weeks.

Next year, or in the winter if we go back...

Like I said, I have a slew more that I'll be posting over the next few weeks.

Maybe I'll go post different ones on Atlas.

Unit Ethanol Train...

What's with the single excess height box car ahead of the ethanol tankers - is that standard operating practice for ethanol trains?

I don't know about it's excess height requirements, but I do know they use a spacer, because accidents happen:

Unit Ethanol Train...

All the ethanol trains I`ve seen going through Macungie have the boxcar spacer on the head end of the tank cars...
You`ll never find a Philly cheese steak on a menu in Philadelphia. It`s called a cheesesteak and we all know where it`s from...

Safety regulations prohibit tank cars carrying flammable liquids or hazardous chemicals from being placed next to the locomotives, necessitating a "spacer" car (and usually there is more than one).

Ed, was that ethonal train headed uphill or downgrade?  Those look like pushers on the back end of the train and if I recall correctly the track on the right is the east bound track, meaning the train is going uphill toward Gallitzen.

You got it, those were the helpers.

Because these days, the helpers are 10x more interesting than what's on the point (unless it's more helpers).
