And now for something completely different (and yes it is this week's thread...not last week's.. until next week that is.....everyone clear on that?) 

Some British preservation scenes taken on trips back home in June 2004 (Bluebell Railway) and January 2006 (Severn Valley Railway).

A general scene at Bewdley on the Severn Valley Railway (SVR)



At Bridgnorth on the SVR an ex-LMS Stainer 2-6-0 (in British Railways livery) prepares to run around its train



The preserved station platform at Arley on the SVR



An ex-South Eastern and Chatham Railway 0-6-0 being prepared for duty on the Bluebell Railway



An ex Southern Railway pacific (nicknamed 'spam cans') waits to leave Sheffield Park on the Bluebell Railway



It is probably worth noting that these are not posed shots, but are pics of regular tourist operations taken, by just turning up. The SVR pics were taken on a Sunday in the middle of winter on a day when there were three engines in operation!

If only she was still like this... sadly, the only preserved SDP45 is parked in the scrap tracks in Roanoke yard for 'storage' while the VMT sees just how much further they can stick their collective heads up their collective arses...

although not "preserved", there is another one in faded conrail blue at the RMDI facility in pittston, pa. i think it's the old cr #6694. it seems to be gutted, it's widows are out, along with her numberboards. she is still on her trucks, and can be preserved if someone wants to do so. the cr blue paint has run onto the trucks too. overall, it's still intact.

Notice also that I never claimed to have pics of the SD80MAC.  I said specifically that I did not.  But that still dosn't mean I couldn't have done some misidentification.


Wes, I have seen that station before in a BBC production on British steam.  A little 0-6-0 ran around with a pickup goods train and picked up the goods.  I remember them waiting on that particular siding for a passenger train.
